Music everyone can be part of
Have you ever thought about how almost everyone enjoys music, yet very few can actually play an instrument? Why is that — could it be because learning to play is genuinely very hard?
I can do this
When we travel around with the Funki instruments, we often meet people who have never had the chance to make music on their own terms. When they get to try our instruments, something beautiful happens. Josefine may pick up a guitar to accompany them, and smiles spread across the room — not only from the person playing, but from classmates and colleagues too. That moment when the door to musical interplay opens and the people playing realise that “I can do this” is one of our favourite moments.
Our instruments are built to be easy to use regardless of cognitive or physical disability, or prior experience. Making music should feel safe, fun and pressure-free — for participants and staff alike. And above all: everyone should be able to take part!
The Funki learning community
Amazing users and staff from 16 municipalities across Sweden are right now making learning, music and sound-making accessible together with Funki instruments.
From Lycksele in the north to Kalmar in the south, music schools, day activities and adapted schools use Funki to enable music-making, increase participation in lessons and build trusting relationships — and every month we grow.
To make the most of each other’s knowledge, we have created a Funki learning community where we meet in digital sessions to share experiences.
Curious about joining one of these meetings? Get in touch! If you are not using Funki yet, it can be a great chance to meet others who are.
We keep moving forward
