About us
Funki was founded on the conviction that playing together should be simple and accessible.
Our craft
Every Funki instrument is handmade in Sweden. We combine careful craftsmanship with modern technology to create instruments that work for many people over a long time.
The instruments are used in music schools, LSS services and day activity centres in Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom.
Our story
We who founded Funki are Maria and Josefine. We met at KTH and quickly found a shared interest in building, programming and inventing. Beyond our studies, Maria has worked for over 10 years with children and young people in the adapted school. Josefine is a systems developer and music producer with a strong interest in hardware instruments and electronic music.
With support from KTH, Södertälje Science Park, Reach for Change, IKEA, developers and pilot organisations, we have built an innovative tool that creates long-term, sustainable inclusion that works in practice. A fun and creative way to collaborate, for more people.
